Baseball team hosts Daytona State Friday on WEFS-TV

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will open a three-game series with Daytona State College Friday at Bruce Bochy Field.

The Titans begin the week 11-13 in the Citrus Conference and are in the hunt for a spot in the postseason while Daytona State College is 6-18 in the conference. Friday's game will begin at 2 p.m. and will be shown live locally on WEFS-TV which is channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse.

Eastern Florida State College is coming off a win against Polk State College and will hand the ball to Zaylen Perry who will be making his fourth start of the season. The Titans come into the series hitting .297 as a team led by shortstop Hector Mangual who is hitting .364 in 36 games.

Daytona State College is hitting .295 as a team and is led by outfielder Xavier Lopez who is hitting .407 with 10 doubles and six home runs this season.
