Baseball team hosts St. Petersburg College for doubleheader Saturday

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will host St. Petersburg College in a doubleheader at Bruce Bochy Field on Saturday.

The Titans, who are 8-11 in the Citrus Conference, will play St. Petersburg College for a pair of games beginning at 1 p.m.

Eastern Florida State College comes into Saturday hitting .303 as a team which is 10th in Region 8, led by Hector Mangual who is hitting .382 and is red hot with at least one hit in 13 of the past 14 games. Teammate Luke Lambert is hitting .351 while Adrian Dominguez is hitting .333 with a team-high 13 doubles.

Kenneth Robinson is scheduled to be one of the starters and has been one of the best pitchers in Region 8 this season. Robinson comes into the matchup with a 2.30 ERA in 10 appearances this season. He is 5-2 with a complete game in seven starts.

St. Petersburg College won the first game in the series and looks to win the series on Saturday. St. Petersburg College is hitting .308 this season led by Carlos Sanchez who is one of the best hitters in Region 8. Sanchez is hitting .411 in 31 games this season for the Titans while teammate Brett Wagner is hitting .362.
