Baseball team will travel to St. Petersburg Thursday

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will begin a three-game series with St. Petersburg College Thursday afternoon.

Eastern Florida State College comes into the battle of Titans 8-10 in the Citrus Conference and has won two of the last three games. St. Petersburg College is now 6-12 in the conference but has won three of the last four games.

St. Petersburg is hitting .300 as a team this season led by Carlos Sanchez who is hitting .404 in 104 at-bats with eight doubles and a couple of home runs.

Eastern Florida State College is hitting .303 as a team and is led by Hector Mangual who is coming off a big week and was named the Region 8 Player of the Week. Mangual is hitting .382 this season while teammate Luke Lambert is hitting .351.

Thursday's game will begin at 3 p.m. at St. Petersburg College and the teams will be at Bruce Bochy Field on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Admission to games at Bruce Bochy Field is free and the games will be shown live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
