Baseball team sweeps Seminole State College Friday

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team completed the sweep of Seminole State College Friday in a three-game series.

The Titans picked up two wins Saturday at Seminole State College, winning 4-1 and then 13-2 to improve to 5-4 in the conference.

In Game 1, Kenneth Robinson allowed just one run over 6 1/3 innings for the victory, striking out three. Hector Mangual went 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI while Luke Lambert and Kevin Smith also had RBIs in the win.

Anthony Cordero came in to get out of a jam in the seventh inning to pick up the save.

In Game 2 it was Michael Benedict who had allowed a run in the first and another in the fourth on his way to a victory as the offense exploded for 13 runs on 12 hits.

Ryan Cerrone hit a majestic home run in the game and drove in three runs while Laheim Bell went 2-for-3, scoring three runs and driving in two while Jake Cooper scored twice and drove in two. Carlos Cordero and Kevin Smith both had two hits in the game.

The Titans have now won six in a row and will play Indian River State College in a three-game series beginning Thursday T Indian River State College. On Saturday the two teams will play a doubleheader at Bruce Bochy Field beginning at noon.
