Baseball team hosts College of Central Florida Saturday

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will host the defending national champion College of Central Florida Saturday afternoon in a Citrus Conference doubleheader.

The Titans will host the Patriots in the doubleheader beginning at noon at Bruce Bochy Field.

The College of Central Florida won the first game of the weekend series, 13-12. The Patriots are 3-1 in the conference and are led by the trio of Anthony Diaz, Kareh Valentin and Edwin Toribio who are all hitting over .400 as Diaz comes in at .429, Valentin is hitting .418 and Toribio hits .409.

Eastern Florida State College's Adrian Dominguez went 3-for-5 with six RBI in the first game and is hitting .357 this season for the Titans. Teammate Carlos Cordero has 10 stolen bases which is fifth in Region 8 and is hitting .328 this season.

Kenneth Robinson and Michael Benedict are scheduled to take the mound for the Titans. Robinson is 1-1 and has a 3.21 ERA and is making his third start of the season. Benedict has made four starts this season and is also 1-1.

Saturday's doubleheader will begin at noon and admission is free to Bruce Bochy Field.
