Baseball team loses game at home

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost a non-conference game Tuesday afternoon at Bruce Bochy Field.

The Titans fell to 7-8-1 on the season with the 7-3 loss to Lake Sumter State College.

Errors proved to be costly for Eastern Florida State College as the Titans took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning as Ryan Cerrone singled, driving in Carlos Cordero. But Lake Sumter State College scored three times on an error to take a 3-1 lead. They would add a run in the fourth and three more in the seventh inning.

Eastern Florida State College scored a run in the seventh and eighth innings but double plays in each inning stopped the rallies.

Adrian Dominguez and Cerrone each finished with two hits in the game.

Eastern Florida State College will start a three-game series Thursday afternoon against the defending national champion College of Central Florida. Thursday's game is at the College of Central Florida with a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday at Titan Field House. Saturday's games will begin at noon.
