Baseball team loses on the road

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost for the first time this season on Wednesday afternoon on the road.

The Titans lost to Palm Beach State College 13-10 and are now 3-1-1 on the season.

Eastern Florida State College scored four times in the fourth inning to take a 5-2 lead and was up 6-4 heading to the eighth inning.

Ryan Cerrone and Eddie Novoa each had RBI doubles in the eighth to increase the lead to 8-4 and they would add another in the inning, heading to the bottom of the eighth leading 9-4. But Palm Beach State College would score nine times in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 13-9 lead.

Eastern Florida State College added a run in the top of the ninth but could not get any closer.

Hector Mangual scored three times and Cerrone drove in three runs in the game. Zaylen Perry took the loss for the Titans.

Eastern Florida State College will be back at Bruce Bochy Field Friday afternoon for a 1 p.m. game against Indian River State College. Admission is free to games at Bruce Bochy Field and the game will be shown on EFSC Titans YouTube page.
