Baseball player Eddiel Tolentino named to Region 8 Gold Glove team

Eastern Florida State College catcher Eddiel Tolentino was awarded the FCSAA Region 8 Gold Glove on Thursday.

Tolentino played in 35 games for the Titans this season and had a .996 fielding percentage and threw out .577 percent of runners attempting to steal against him this season.

"He had a really good season for us, did a really nice job with the pitching staff and was reliable behind the plate," Eastern Florida State College baseball coach Steven Brown said.

The freshman from Kissimmee recorded just one error and one passed ball this season.

It marks the second straight season that a Titans catcher has won the Region 8 Gold Glove as Drew Cavanaugh was named both the state and the NJCAA Division I Baseball ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove at catcher last season.
