Baseball team falters late in final home game of season

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team played at Bruce Bochy Field for the final time this season on Friday night.

The 15 sophomores played their final game at home, losing to Indian River State College 12-2 in eight innings.

Sophomore starting pitcher KC Swords got the start and pitched well for the first six innings, allowing just one earned run as the Titans trailed 3-2.

The left-hander got into trouble in the seventh inning and finished with three earned runs over six-plus innings, striking out five hitters. Indian River State College would end up scoring eight times in the seventh inning.

Dalton Robinson and Zach Taylor scored the two runs for the Titans.

Eastern Florida State College will finish up the season with a pair of games at Florida Southwestern. The Titans will travel to Fort Myers tomorrow for a 2 p.m. game against the Bucs and then the two teams will meet again on Tuesday.
