Baseball team loses conference game at home

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost another Southern Conference game to Miami Dade College on Friday night at Bruce Bochy Field.

The game started over an hour late due to an umpire mixup but when it did start the Sharks were ready, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning and cruised to a 12-1 win in seven innings.

Down 3-0, the Titans would get a run back when Adrian Dominguez singled, took second base on a wild pitch and scored on a Zach Taylor double as the right fielder hit a shot to deep center field. It would be the only hits that the Titans would get as Miami Dade starter Herick Hernandez tossed six solid innings for the win.

Brady Linkel struck out two of the four hitters he faced in the seventh inning.

Eastern Florida State College will host Miami Dade for Game 3 of the series Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bruce Bochy Field. Admission is free and you can watch the game live online at EFSC Titans Sports YouTube page.
