Baseball team falls to Florida Southwestern, loses series

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost to Florida Southwestern State College on the road Saturday.

The Titans fell to 17-17 overall and 3-6 in the Southern Conference with the 7-4 loss.

Zach Taylor hit his second home run of the season in the top of the third inning to give the Titans a 2-0 lead. Eastern Florida State College would score four times, but the Bucs would come right back with three in the bottom of the third inning to keep things close.

Florida Southwestern, who is now 6-3 in the conference, would add a run in the fourth and stake the lead in the sixth before tacking on two more in the eighth for the win.

Adrian Dominguez finished with three hits while Taylor and Don McKnight each had two.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to Embry-Riddle on Monday for a 2 p.m. game before opening a three-game conference series with Miami Dade College on Wednesday in Miami.
