Baseball team picks up third straight win

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team picked up a win against Warner University JV on the road Monday.

The Titans improved to 16-15 overall and have won three in a row and four of the past five with the 13-1 win in six innings.

The Titans got things going early as Don McKnight, Wilfredo Maldanado and Ryne Wallace all singled and scored in the first inning. The Titans would add three more in the second inning and cruised to victory.

Gabriel Delvalle tossed five innings of one-hit baseball, striking out four for his second win.

Jacob Vermiere scored three times while Brady Strelitz, Maldanado, McKnight and Carlos Cordero each had two hits.

Eastern Florida State College will host first-place Florida Southwestern Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Bruce Bochy Field in the first of a three-game series. The other two games will be played at Florida Southwestern on Friday and Saturday. Admission to Bruce Bochy Field is free.
