Baseball team loses at home to Indian River

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost the series opener to Indian River State College Wednesday at Bruce Bochy Field.

The Titans fell to 0-4 in the Southern Conference and 13-15 overall with the 9-1 loss.

Eastern Florida State College starter Dalton Robinson was solid over the first five innings but ran into trouble in the sixth inning.

Down 4-1, the defense had a couple big errors that led to four runs in the seventh inning to take a commanding 8-1 lead.

The offense could never get on track as the Titans had six hits and left 10 runners on base Wednesday.

Indian River improved to 2-2 in the conference. The Pioneers were led by Vincent Samuel and Gage Adams who each had three hits in the game.

Game 2 of the series will be Friday at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce with the final game of the series scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday.
