Baseball team falls short against Polk State

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost a close game on the road Saturday afternoon.

The Titans lost 5-4 to Polk State College.

Eastern Florida State College's KC Swords got the start and tossed four scoreless innings before Polk State College scored three times in the fifth inning.

Down 3-0, the Titans battled back in the top of the seventh inning with three runs. They would take the lead in the top of the eighth inning, but Polk State College would score twice in the bottom of the eighth for the 5-4 win.

 Gabriel Cruz had two hits, stole two bases and scored a run and drove in a run while Zach Taylor drove in two runs while Don McKnight drove in a run, scored a run and stole a base.

Swords struck out seven over seven innings.

Eastern Florida State College will host Seminole State College on Monday at 6 p.m. at Titan Field House.
