Baseball team defeats Palm Beach State College

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team scored a season-high 13 runs in a win against Palm Beach State College Wednesday at Bruce Bochy Field.

The Titans improved to 3-5 on the season with the 13-7 win, earning a split with Palm Beach State College on the season.

After giving up a couple of runs in the top of the first inning, the Titans scored three times in the bottom of the third inning and then scored twice in both the fourth and fifth innings.

Palm Beach cut into the lead with three straight home runs, but with a 7-5 lead the Titans put the game away with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Keybar Lopez and Brady Strelitz each had three RBI in the game as the Titans finished with 11 hits in the game. Matt Merk had two hits, drive in two runs and scored three times while Adrian Dominguez scored four times in the win. Jacob Vermeire scored twice and drove in two runs with two hits.

Carlos Cordero stole three bases in the game and Jacob Hardy picked up the win in relief.

Eastern Florida State College baseball team will be back at Bruce Bochy Field Friday at 1 p.m. against Hillsborough Community College.
