Baseball team defeats Indian River State College

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team came out swinging against Indian River State College to pick up a 13-2 win in seven innings at Bruce Bochy Field Friday night.

The Titans scored six times in the first inning highlighted by Jonathan Hubbard's grand slam.

With the score 2-0, the freshman from Dunedin hit a 3-1 high fastball over the right field wall for his first home run of the season.

The Titans would add three more runs in the second inning to lead 9-0. They would basically put the game away in the fifth inning with three runs.

Tyler Isenberg and Kyle Dentmon each had three hits as Dentmon scored four times in the game. Connor Leary had two hits, drove in three and scored twice while Bryan Pena and Hubbard each had two hits.

Starting pitcher Chase Victor picked up his fourth win allowing two unearned runs on two hits. Connor Brian and Dominic Baratta pitched the final three innings, combining for nine strikeouts without allowing a hit.

The two teams will play in the final game of the series Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bruce Bochy Field. Admission is free.
