Baseball team hosts Lake Sumter State College today

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will host Lake Sumter State College Friday afternoon in a non-conference game at Bruce Bochy Field.

The Titans (6-6) are led offensively by Alejandro Rodriguez who is hitting .370 with 46 at-bats this season which is tied for first in the nation. On the mound a pair of freshmen are off to good starts for the Titans as Jackson Woodward in third in the nation in strikeouts with 25 and Zack Kornick leads the nation in saves with three.

Freshman Chase Victor is scheduled to make his second start of the season. The left-hander is 1-0 with a 3.27 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 11 innings this season.

Lake Sumter State College is 6-5 on the season and is led offensively by Chenar Brown who is hitting .487 with 13 runs batted in.

Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and admission is free to games at Bruce Bochy Field.
