Baseball team uses big second inning to pick up win at home

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team picked up its second straight win Wednesday night, defeating Hillsborough Community College 10-3 at Bruce Bochy Field. 

The Titans scored six runs in the second inning highlighted by two-run singles by Alejandro Rodriguez and Tyler Isenberg. Dawson Fietsam drove in a run in the fourth inning and the Titans would score a run in the sixth and two more in the seventh in the victory.

Chase Victor tossed 4 1/3 innings of shutout baseball allowing just one hit to pick up his first win in relief of starter Rafael Acosta. Toshawn Drew struck out the side in the ninth inning to finish the game.

Offensively, Connor Leary had two hits, scored twice and had two stolen bases while Rodriguez had two hits, drove in the two runs while Lake Fisher scored twice. 

The Titans will be back at Bruce Bochy Field Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. against Polk State College who comes into the contest 1-2 on the season.
