Baseball team blanks ASA Miami

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team won its fifth straight game on Saturday afternoon, defeating ASA Miami 10-0 in seven innings at Bruce Bochy Field. 

Starting pitcher Connor Brian allowed just one hit in six shutout innings striking out six hitters for his fifth win of the season.

Sophomore catcher Austin Bates had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and scored two runs and has now recorded a hit in 23 straight games. Steven Lugo, Kevin Silva, Collier Rutledge, Alejandro Rodriguez and JD Stubbs each had two hits as the Titans finished with 13 hits.

The Titans improved to 26-16 overall with the win and have six regular-season games remaining beginning next week with a series against Palm Beach State College. Eastern Florida State College will travel to Palm Beach State on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. game and then be at Bruce Bochy Field Friday evening at 4 p.m. The two teams will finish the series at Palm Beach State College on Saturday.
