Baseball team defeats ASA Miami for fourth straight win

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team won its fourth straight game, defeating ASA Miami 5-3 on Friday night at Bruce Bochy Field.

ASA Miami got on the board early with runs in the first and third inning but the Titans struck back with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Sophomore Kevin Silva had a two-run triple and later scored to take a 3-2 lead.

The Titans added a run in the fifth inning and another in the sixth to take a 5-2 lead. Meanwhile starting pitcher Pablo Barquero Jackson settled down and finished with seven solid innings, allowing two runs and striking out nine.

Raynieri de Los Santos Disla came in and got the final six outs for his first save, striking out four.

Seven different hitters had a hit in the game for the Titans who improved to 25-16 on the season.

Eastern Florida State College will host ASA Miami on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. Admission to Bruce Bochy Field is free.
