Carter Stewart named NJCAA Region VIII Pitcher of the Week

Eastern Florida State College baseball player Carter Stewart was named the NJCAA Region VIII Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.

Stewart allowed just one hit over eight innings and struck out 12 while just walking one in a no decision against Broward College last week. It is the second time this season that Stewart has been named the Pitcher of the Week.

For the season, Stewart is tied for third in the nation in strikeouts with 71 on the season and has three games of 11 strikeouts or more. For the season, the freshman from Eau Gallie High is 2-1 with a 1.61 ERA.

The Titans will travel to Miami Dade on Wednesday for a Southern Conference series with games at Bruce Bochy Field on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game begins at 6 p.m. and Saturday's game is at 1 p.m. and admission is free.
