Baseball team blanks Broward to win series

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team defeated Broward College 13-0 Sunday afternoon in a Southern Conference matchup.

Four pitchers combined for a one-hit shutout as starter Connor Brian picked up his third win of the season for the Titans who are now 20-12 overall and lead the conference with an 8-4 record.

Clayton Stanley led the offensive attack going 3-for-4 with four RBI while Collier Rutledge had two doubles, JD Stubbs hit his third home run of the season and drove in three runs while both Alvaro Valdez and Alejandro Rodriguez each had two hits.

Eastern Florida State College will open a three-game series with Miami Dade who comes into the series second in the conference. The Titans are 2-1 against the Sharks this season. The first game is in Miami before the teams come to Bruce Bochy Field for games on Friday evenng and Saturday afternoon.
