Baseball team defeats Warner University JV

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team scored eight times in the sixth inning to defeat Warner University JV 14-9 Tuesday night at Bruce Bochy Field.

Down 7-3 heading to the bottom of the sixth inning, Bryan Pena opened with a single, the Steven Lugo reached on an error. Dilan Espinal drove in the first run of the inning with a single, scoring Pena. Alvaro Valdez singled, scoring Lugo and the score was 7-5. Alejandro Rodriguez hit an infield single to load the bases. Austin Bates tied the game with a two-run double and the Titans took the lead on Gabriel Vera's two-run single. The Titans would score two more runs in the inning to take an 11-7 lead.

Bates would drive in two more in the seventh on a single and Valdez had a two-run double in the eighth for the Titans who improved to 9-9.

Espinal finished with four hits and scored three runs while Valdez, Rodriguez and Bates all had three hits for the Titans.

Raynieri de Los Santos Disla picked up the win in relief and Michael Entenza picked up his first save.

The Titans will be back at Bruce Bochy Field Wednesday evening, hosting Indian River State College in the first game of a three-game series with the Pioneers. First pitch is 6 p.m. at Bruce Bochy Field and Carter Stewart will take the mound for the Titans.
