Baseball team falls on the road

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team made a late comeback but fell short against the College of Central Florida in Ocala Saturday afternoon.

The Titans jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on Steven Lugo's RBI double and then an RBI single by JD Stubbs. But the College of Central Florida scored the next eight runs to take a big lead. But in the top of the ninth inning, the Titans scored three times before the College of Central Florida got the final out to lock up their eighth straight win.

Dilan Espinal led the Titans with three hits while Lugo had two hits and drove in two runs. Starter Raynieri de Los Santos Disla took the loss, allowing two earned runs in four innings.

The Titans, who are now 5-5 on the season, will travel to the State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota on Tuesday before hosting Daytona State College on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Bruce Bochy Field.
