Titans fall to Miami Dade in Southern Conference matchup

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost a close Southern Conference game with Miami Dade on Saturday afternoon at Bruce Bochy Field.

The Titans fell to 10-10 in the conference with the 4-2 loss.

Norberto Navarro got the Titans on the board first in the first inning, getting hit by a pitch, stealing second and scoring on Sammy Duran's single.

But starting pitcher Ryan Lang struggled in the second inning, allowing two runs but with the bases loaded, got the strikeout and groundout to end the threat. Miami Dade added one run in the third and another in the sixth inning.

JP Williams relieved Lang and pitched 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, striking out two.

The Titans cut into the lead in the eighth inning as Jeff Korte doubled and scored on Ian Lisle's double.

Korte and Lisle each had two hits in the game.

Eastern Florida State College will host ASA Miami at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Admission is free to Bruce Bochy Field.
