Titans baseball team defeats ASA Miami

Three Eastern Florida State College pitchers combined for 17 strikeouts as the Titans scored a 3-1 non-conference baseball victory over visiting ASA Miami on Tuesday at Bruce Bochy Field.

Right-hander Chandellor Benton earned his fifth victory of the season, striking out 10 hitters in six innings. Righty JP Williams recorded two strikeouts in the seventh inning and closer righty Tim Luth earned the save by striking out five batters in two innings.

Benton allowed four hits and one run, walking two. Luth allowed one hit.

"Chandellor did a phenomenal job," said Titans head coach Jeff Tam.

Paul Castillo and Jacob McFadden hit solo home runs for the Titans who improved to 19-10 overall. Ian Lisle collected a run batted in with a third-inning single.

Sammy Duran and Anthony Martinez had two hits each.

The Titans return to action at 6 p.m. Wednesday hosting the Kaiser College junior varsity at Bruce Bochy Field and return to Southern Conference play hosting Indian River State at 6 p.m. Friday.

The Titans sit third in the conference with a 6-6 record. Admission to Titan home games is free.
