Aquino, Borkey named Orlando Health Student-Athletes of Week

A pair of Eastern Florida State College athletes had big weeks and are the Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb. 4.

Sophomore softball player Jenna Borkey went 7-for-12 in the four games and scored two runs in each of the four games. The Concord, North Carolina native had a home run and a double, driving in six runs. She also stole five bases.

Overall, the outfielder is hitting .556 with 10 eight RBI and has scored 10 runs with eight stolen bases in six games.

Sophomore men's basketball player Owen Aquino averaged 14 points per game and eight rebounds in the two games this week, helping the Titans go 2-0. The sophomore forward also had three blocks in each game and averaged five assists per game. 

For the season Aquino is averaging 14.9 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game this season for the Titans who are now 19-3 overall. 

The softball team, who begins the week 6-0, will be home Friday for a doubleheader against St. Johns River State College beginning at 2 p.m.

The men's basketball team will be back at Titan Field House to play St. Petersburg College at 4 p.m. on Saturday. The game will be shown live on WEFS-TV, channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse.
