Basketball players Rieth, Colceag named Orlando Health Student-Athlete of Week

A couple of Eastern Florida State College basketball players helped their teams to wins last week and are the Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Dec. 10.

Women's basketball player Lynn Rieth and men's basketball player Luca Colceag were both honored for the first time.

Rieth, a freshman guard, made 13 of her 19 3-pointers in two games for the Titans as she had two straight career highs.

On Wednesday night at Edward Waters JV, Reith had 15 points with five 3-pointers and then on Saturday in the conference opener at Daytona State College the Holy Trinity graduate made eight 3-pointers for a game-high 24 points to lead the Titans to a 2-0 week.

Colceag, a sophomore forward, averaged 16.5 points, six rebounds and two steals in the two games that he played in. In a win against Tallahassee, Colceag scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds with four steals. And then against Northwest Florida State College he had 17 points, five rebounds and a steal.

For the season, the Bucharest, Romania native is averaging 13.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

Rieth and the Titans will have a big week ahead, hosting Santa Fe College on Monday and then travels to Hillsborough Community College on Wednesday before hosting Miami Dade College on Saturday before beginning Christmas break. All three games are Citrus Conference games.

Colceag and the men's team will be on Christmas break until Jan. 3 when they will travel to the Florida State College at Jacksonville. Eastern Florida State College will be home on Saturday, Jan. 6 against Florida Southwestern State College for the Citrus Conference opener.
