Osifo, Schimmel named Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week

Eastern Florida State College basketball players Osayi Osifo and Milan Schimmel were named the Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Jan. 26.

Osifo led the men's basketball team to a 2-0 week including hitting two big free throws to clinch a win over the College of Central Florida Saturday to move into a tie for first place in the Mid-Florida Conference. The forward from Texas averaged 13.5 points and nine rebounds.

Schimmel helped the women's basketball team to a couple of wins this past week, averaging 18 points, 11 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.5 steals.

Both teams have big conference games this week as the men's basketball team will travel to Daytona State College on Wednesday while the women's basketball team is at St. Petersburg College on Wednesday night. On Saturday both teams will be back at Titan Field House for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
