Kyra, Martin named EFSC student-athletes of the week

Eastern Florida State College men's soccer player Aedon Kyra and volleyball player Anaeli Perea Martin were named Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Aug. 25.

Kyra helped lead the men's soccer team to a 2-1 start, scoring seven goals in three games for the Titans. The sophomore from New South Wales, Australia has scored three times on penalty kicks and has at least two goals in each game this season.

Martin helped the volleyball team to a 4-1 record in the season-opening Beat The Heat tournament in Phoenix, Arizona.

The freshman from Anasco, Puerto Rico had 74 digs in five matches over the weekend and passed a 2.46 in serve receive. The libero made the all-tournament team.

Both the men's soccer team and the women's volleyball teams will be home Friday night. The men's soccer team will host Laramie County Community College at 6 p.m. while the volleyball team plays Webber International at 6 p.m. Admission to sporting events is free.
