Warren, Lugo and Pennington named Athletes of the Week

A trio of student-athletes were named Eastern Florida State College athletes of the week for the week ending March 10.

Men's basketball player Jalen Warren averaged 18.6 points per game in the FCSAA/NJCAA Region VIII State Tournament, helping the Titans reach the championship game. Warren was also named to the all-tournament team.

Baseball player Steven Lugo hit .444 with seven runs scored and four RBI in four games this season as the Titans went 4-0. Lugo is hitting .330 in 25 games this season with 27 runs scored and 20 RBI.

Softball player Nikki Pennington hit .454 in six games, hitting two triples and two doubles while scoring eight runs and driving in four runs. The sophomore is hitting .467 in 14 games this season with 14 runs scored and 14 RBI.

The baseball and softball teams are home on Tuesday afternoon while the men's basketball team will play in the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament beginning March 18.
