The Eastern Florida State College spring sports will take center stage this week as the women's golf team opens the season and the softball team will open the home season on Tuesday.

The women's golf team opens the spring season Monday in Georgia at the Coast Georgia Winter Invitational for a two-day tournament in St. Simon Island. 

The softball team is coming off a big weekend series at the Florida State College at Jacksonville,  recording two shutouts and will open the home part of the schedule Tuesday afternoon against Daytona State College. The Titans lost a pair of games to the Falcons last week. First pitch is 4 p.m. and admission is free.

The baseball team will be back at Bruce Bochy Field on Wednesday afternoon, hosting Daytona State College at 4 p.m. for the only meeting of the season. 

Both tennis teams will be in action on Friday afternoon, hosting Florida National University. The matches begin at noon at Titan Tennis Center.

The softball team is also back home on Friday, facing State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota who is 6-1 on the season and is sixth in the state poll.

On Saturday the baseball team will be hosting Polk State at 1 p.m. Polk State won the first matchup early in the season, but the Titans have won three of the past five games.

Both basketball teams will be on the road in critical conference games Saturday. The women's basketball team is in second place in the Suncoast Conference and needs to win two of the final three games in order to qualify for the state tournament. On Saturday the Titans travel to St. Petersburg for the third meeting between the two teams. The teams have split the first two meetings with each team winning at home.

The men's basketball team is in first place in the Mid-Florida Conference standings by a half game and will hit the road to play the Florida State College at Jacksonville. The Titans have won the first two meetings and need another win on Saturday to stay in the hunt for its second straight conference title. Tipoff is 2 p.m. in Jacksonville. 

The baseball and softball teams will both be home on Sunday afternoon with the baseball team hosting Lake Sumter State College at 1 p.m. The baseball team won the first meeting this season with Lake Sumter 13-7. The softball team playing St. Johns River in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.

Admission to games on the Melbourne campus is free.
