Trio named Student-Athletes of the Week

For the second straight week a trio of athletes were named Eastern Florida State College Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb. 3.

Sophomore Sierra Votaw was named the women's student-athlete of the week after helping the women's basketball team to a 2-0 week. The North Carolina native averaged 20.5 points this week.

Sophomore baseball player Clayton Stanley went 7-for-12 with two home runs and nine RBI, stealing three bases and scored twice as the Titans went 1-1. The Eau Gallie High graduate is hitting .538 in five games this season.

Sophomore Jalen Warren scored a career-high 29 points in a Mid-Florida Conference win over Daytona State College and led the team in rebounds against FSC Jacksonville. For the week, the Milton, Canada native averaged 17 points, five rebounds and three assists for Eastern Florida State College.

The sophomore trio will look to help their teams pick up big wins again this week. The baseball team will host the State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota on Monday at 5 p.m. and then host Hillsborough Community College on Friday at 4 p.m.

The women's basketball team will host No. 13-ranked Florida Southwestern at 5:30 p.m Wednesday night in a Suncoast Conference game and the men's basketball team will host Santa Fe following the women's game in a Mid-Florida Conference matchup. Both teams will also be home on Saturday for a doubleheader with the women's game starting at 2 p.m. and the men playing at 4 p.m.
