Soccer teams finish regular season among Region 8 leaders

The men's and women's soccer teams completed their regular seasons and finished at the top of the conference in multiple statistical categories.

The women's team wrapped up the Region 8 Conference regular season title behind a strong defense that gave up a conference-best 1.13 goals per game.

Offensively, the women's team had their fair share of goal scorers.  Sophomore Cristina Garriga led the Titans with 11 goals, which was third in the conference while sophomore teammate Klesha Darroux is fifth with eight goals. 

Freshman Ali Tosches ended her first regular season with the Titans with 10 assists, tied with ASA Miami's Ivana Slipcevic for first in the conference. Garriga was third with eight assists and had a team-high 30 points which was also third in the conference.

The men's team finished second in the conference and, like the women, were No. 1 in scoring defense, allowing 0.79 goals per game.

Goalkeeper Nour Moaoui had the best save percentage in the conference with a .889, which was also seventh in the nation.  Moaoui finished first overall and ninth in nation in goals against average by allowing 0.53 goals per a game while Nick Brady finished third with a 1.08 average.

Freshman Schimiliguen Castin led the way in scoring, finishing second in the conference with seven goals. Freshman Uziel Hernandez and sophomore Aedon Kyra tied for third in the conference with six goals apiece.  Hernandez also had seven assists, which was tied for first in the conference. 

Castin and Hernandez finished the regular season tied for second in points with 19 each while Kyra tied for fifth, registering 16 points.

Both the men's and women's soccer teams will play in the Region 8 Conference Tournament this week.
